Overview
Killruddery House is a heritage tourism app for the historic Killruddery Estate in County Wicklow, Ireland. It turns a physical estate visit into a self-guided digital experience with audio narration, interactive maps, images and quizzes. Built end to end, solo, across mobile, web and an admin backend.

The hard part
The estate needed audio to route intelligently between the phone loudspeaker and the earpiece speaker. Using native platform channels to bridge Flutter to the underlying iOS and Android audio hardware, a single button toggles playback between the main speaker and the call speaker in real time — the kind of native level control off the shelf audio libraries do not expose.
Engineering
Under the hood
Built in Flutter and Dart with a multi flavor setup producing two branded apps from one codebase, backed by Firebase and Cloud Firestore for real time content sync. State handled with Bloc and Riverpod, maps through MapBox, audio through a custom native channel layer. Full ownership from architecture through the admin backend, mobile apps and store submission on both platforms.
